Scars Chapter 2 *Rejuvenated*

"Sorry for taking up your time Garrus, I should go." I say as I get up and slowly walk away.

"Shepard, I'm the one who invited you here, I'm the one who took up your time." he says as he get's up as well.

"I suppose so, see yeah Garrus." I say sheepishly as I walk out the door.

"You too Shepard." He said as the door closed.

I walked out of the main battery feeling surprisingly a lot better. Dr. Chakwas saw me and called me in. I went into the med bay and asked, "What do you need doc?"

"Well Shepard," Dr. Chakwas started, "I just wanted to check on the implants that Cerberus gave you. Making sure that your body is accepting it well or not and don't worry, it's just a quick check up." She says as she get's her Omni tool started up. She scanned me with her Omni tool then said after a moment or two, "Your body is accepting it rather well, I'm surprised; and I didn't know that 'the' Commander Shepard blushed." It seemed like I was about to go into shock; was I blushing when I was with Garrus? B-but I only see him as an acquai- friend. I only see him as a friend. Besides, he's an alien, it's not…. natural. I mean, I've seen a Turian and Quarian date… but they're both dextro, that's natural I suppose. The Asari… they mate with everything basically. Now that I think of it… maybe a Turian and Human mated before and made the Asari race… the fringe looks Turian… and the body structure is human too. "Shepard?" I heard Dr. Chakwas' voice and snapped out of my thoughts.

"Huh? What is it doc?" I say as I'm in a daze, trying to get out of my own thoughts just to think for a moment.

"For a second there Shepard you weren't responding, are you alright?" she asks with concern in her eyes.

I rubbed the side of my temple and yawned while stretching. "Yeah doc, I'm fine… just thinking is all."

"Ah, well it's been a long day, you need some rest Commander." She says with a smile, knowing that I'll be alright after I take a nap.

"Well, if that's the doctor's advice, I guess I will." I walked while dragging my footing, feeling emotionally and physically exhausted. As soon as I was in the elevator I accidently pressed the button to hard; but I didn't care, I was just too tired to give a damn if anything's broken. That's what the engineering people are for. As soon as the door opened to my room, I ran to my bed and jumped to it, landing on my back. Then I just Shut my eyes and fell asleep to the slow beat of the music in the background; smiling, to how things turned out in the end. Kaidan basically saying F you, Joker still making jokes, and Garrus… comforting me for the first time as long as I've known him. I didn't really comfort him when he got hit by that missile… for a moment, I was scared for him, I thought that he was going to die. But, I guess he's just a tough Turian… with a sexy scar. With that thought out of my head I finally fell asleep when I shut my eyes and cleared my head. For the first time in a long time, I'm having a stress less sleep.

Later my eyes opened, feeling rejuvenated, yet my eyes where tired. I sat up and stretched as I put my bare feet on the cold metal floor of my room. I got up and walked to the bathroom, then  I noticed nothing was moving in my fish tank; I looked at the fish tank with curiosity and said, "Damn, if I cant even keep fish alive for a few days, how am I supposed to keep my crew alive when we go on the Suicide Mission?" I sighed with displeasure and hit the button to clean the fish tank. If only getting rid of problems was that easy…   

I got dressed and ready to meet the Illusive Man; he's probably pissed at me 'cause I didn't respond the first time when he tried contacting me after we were done on Horizon. As I entered the Com room, the table lowered to the floor and I walked on it while the thing was scanning me.

"So," the Illusive Man started, "I heard what happened on Horizon, that not everybody was abducted." He said as if he about everything that happened on Horizon.

"Yeah," I responded, "But how the hell is it a coincidence, when I go to a human colony that's being attacked my Collectors, and one of my old crew just happened to be there?" I say, trying my hardest not to blow up in his face; just trying to show just enough anger to let him know that I was pissed.

"Isn't it obvious Shepard? They want you so they go after your old crew to make you show up." He says as if it were that simple. It probably is in his mind, he's proved to me that he can predict things more than expected to, but I'm still expecting a knife in my back sooner or later.

"Did you know anything about this?" I say with an irritated tone now while gritting my teeth, trying my hardest not to yell.

"I knew that Mr. Alenko would be there, I just didn't think he'd survive." he says as he looks at me with his cold eyes, seeming like he wanted Kaidan to die so then I wouldn't have any relations tied to the Alliance.   

"And what's up with Cerberus tipping off to the Alliance that I'm alive?" I say with suspicion, still trying to understand the Illusive Man's true intentions.  

"I'll admit, I may have said something about you walking around now, but that's not important, what's important is the Collectors may have a pattern going on. While I figure out this pattern, I've sent you more dossiers to help you with the Suicide Mission; I suggest getting them on the team as soon as possible." He says while his cold eyes go straight thru me, know that I have nothing better to do, and without him. I'd probably have no idea how to do this Suicide Mission, he knows that I need him as much as he needs me to get things done.

I rolled my eyes and ended the chat. Then I went to the Deck and asked Kelly, "Who's first on the dossier list Kelly?"

She read through the data pad and says, "Thane Krios, the Assassin on Illium, also I recommend getting Samara, the Justicar, she's on Illium too."

I punched in the coordination's in the Galaxy Map and sat down, waiting to meet Thane and Samara.
